If you would like to have your quilt quilted, I will be very happy to finish it for you.  I provide both custom and digital/computerized edge to edge quilting.  My quilting is done on an APQS millennium and on a Handi Quilter Amara20.  

Your quilt is important to me.  As you prepare your quilt to send it to me, please consider the following:

• If the quilt is directional please mark the top.  The same applies to the back fabric.

• Quilt top and back fabric should be well pressed.  Press seams open on the back fabric.  Cut loose threads.

• Your backing needs to be 6-8” wider and longer than the quilt top.  It’s always better to have much more backing than too little.  If the backing is directional please mark the top. 

• Please don’t send sheets for the backing.  It causes too many thread breaks. 

• If you provide your own batting, make sure it is 6-8” wider and longer than the quilt top.

• When you ship your quilt(s) please place the quilt top and backing in a plastic bag inside the box along with your contact info.   

 

Quilting Rates

I charge by the square inch.  To find the price for the quilting, measure your quilt’s width and length’s in inches and follow the following model:

Width x Length x rate

Example: 55” x 80” x $0.0225 = $99.00

Semi-custom starts at $0.035 sq inch.  That’s a combination of an allover design and custom quilting in certain areas or blocks on the quilt. 

Custom quilting starts at $0.04 sq inch up to $0.12 sq inch

Applique starts at $0.06 sq inch up to $0.12 sq inch

Wool quilts starts at $0.10 sq inch

Minimum charge is $80

Edge to edge Quilting: also known as pantographs: I usually have a fast turnaround for edge-to-edge quilting.  I have many edge to edge designs to choose from click here to see them or Patterns at the top of the page.  If you have a design in mind and I don’t have it let me know and I will try to get it for you.  If you would like me to pick up a design, let me know and I will be very happy to pick one for you.

Large Edge to edge designs start at $0.02 sq inch

Overall edge to edge designs start at $0.0225 sq inch

Dense edge to edge quilting starts at $0.025 up to $0.04

There is a minimum charge of $50 for edge to edge quilting.  

If you have more than 1 small quilt, I will waive the minimum fee if you provide a large backing for them.  

 

THREADS

I provide all the threads.  My thread preferences are so fine and glide threads.  I have many colors available so finding a color or colors that compliment/blend with your quilt won’t be a problem.   

 

BATTING

​

You can provide your own batting or you can buy it from me.  I carry Hobbs and Quilters Dream battings.  I only charge for the amount I use and I always cut by the smallest side.  Example: the quilt top measures 65X85 I cut 73” off the roll.  

• Hobbs 80/20 in white, and black,  $14 a yard

• Hobbs 80/20 in natural, $12 a yard

• Quilter’s Charm white,  $10 a yard

• QD Cotton deluxe natural,  $10 a yard

• The Quilter’s Dream batting I store are in bags but I will use the best size for your quilt.

• I usually carry QD wool, blend, and cotton select in natural and white, prices vary.

• Quilter’s dream offers many varieties in batting so if there is a particular one you would like to use let me know and I will try to get it for you.

If you would like to keep the battings scraps let me know ahead and I will be happy to send them with the quilt.  

 

Quilts Delivery/Pick up/Shipping

My local customers can call or text to schedule an appointment to deliver and pick up quilts at my studio.  Non-local customers can ship the quilts to me via USPS, UPS or Fedex.  You can add insurance if you like (it hasn’t been needed yet) but it’s better to be safe.  Signature requirements are not necessary.  Please text or call letting me know you shipped a quilt(s).  I like to know there are quilts on the way.  I will let you know when the quilt(s) arrive so you don’t worry.   When the quilt(s) is/are finished I will notify you and I will then ship the quilt(s) back to the address you provided.

Payments

​

My local customers can pay with cash, check, and or Zelle.  For non-local customers, when I contact you letting you know the quilts are finished I will provide an invoice.  Payments can be made via Zelle and Paypal.  You can also mail a check and after I receive the payment I will mail the quilt(s) back to you.

I like to share my quilting on social media (facebook and instagran) and I hope it is okay with you.  If you don’t want me to share photos of your quilt please let me know.  Thank you. 

 

Other Services

​

Piece backing:  If you don’t like piecing the backing I can do it for you. I charge $0.10 per linear inch of the seam.  Please let me know ahead of time so I can have the back ready when it’s time to load the quilt on the machine.  

Trimming:  I like to trim the quilts after they are finished.  I do it as a courtesy and I don’t charge for it.    If you don’t want me to trim your quilt(s) please let me know.  I don’t trim show quilts.   

Binding:  I charge by the linear inch.  I only do straight edge binding with mitered corners.  If you are preparing the binding please sew all strips together for one continuous piece.

To calculate the price for the binding use the following model:

 

Width (2) + length (2) x rate

Example: 50+50+70+70x$0.20=$48

• Binding is prepared.  Sew the binding to the top and hand finish on the back. $0.20

• Binding is not prepared.  Prepare the binding, sew the binding to the top and hand finish on the back. $0.30

• Binding is prepared.  Sew the binding to the top, you finish the rest.  $0.10

• Binding is prepared.  Sew the binding to the quilt and finish it by machine.  $0.15 

• Binding is not prepared.  Prepare binding, sew binding to the quilt and finish it by machine.  $0.20
